The West Coast wildfires continue to cast a strange and eerie haze over Eastern skies. The sun appears redder and later in the sky in the morning and disappears behind a thick gray haze earlier in the afternoon.

As the fog was dissipating in the setting sun, whichever direction the camera was pointed, we were treated to a breathtaking view.
Dominic Nesta Returning to Port
Dominic Nesta and his unmistakeable fishing boat ‘Tide Skipper’ coming home Friday night, with the Fort in the background. I think the pilot house on the small book gives it a very interesting, unique look, making it always easy to identify whenever seen in the Harbor.

Easter’s saturated sunset from East Gloucester was arresting, becoming even more so after the sun set. The colors on the water momentarily reflected the voluptuous hues of the twilight sky, when very quickly the horizon turned glowing coral-pink-peach before extinguishing itself in purple.
The violet-orange on the water’s glass-like surface in the foreground looked as though it had been applied by paint.

The late summer sunset began quietly, in soft shades of coral rose and lavender blue. The sky’s light swiftly transformed to a riotous rainbow of super saturated hues.

Chasing Rainbows (and Storm Clouds)
The beautiful double rainbow late Saturday afternoon had faded, but I did see this on my way home.

The sky was so gorgeous I next stopped at Smith’s Cove to catch the end of the setting sun. The hues quickly changed from vivid yellow-orange to orange-violet-pink.
