What a treat to walk pass Duckworth’s and see the lovely paper snowflakes and Merry Christmas tree, made even more beautiful after the snowfall <3

Many share our worries in regard to local small businesses. Our restaurants and the friends who work in these establishments, downtown Main Street retail shops, Cape Ann’s fishermen and lobstermen, the nonprofits that serve our community, artists, writers, photographers, musicians, designers, the list goes on and on. We are all going to be hit hard by this devastating turn of events.
One way in which we can help each other stay afloat is to buy gift cards. It may sound inconsequential, but every purchase will help. Our friends at Duckworth’s have a link to purchase gift cards and it is a great example of one small way we can help. Duckworth’s Gift Cards
Any local business that wants to communicate with their customers and the public about special offerings during these extremely challenging times please feel free to email me (kimsmithdesigns@hotmail.com) or email any of our contributors and we will post here. Thank you!
Our cherished and favorite neighborhood gathering place, Chef Ken and Nicole Duckworth’s, has reopened for the season and it looks stunning. Inspired by the surrounding coastal hues of deep marine blue, Cape Ann’s rugged granite outcroppings, and the soft gray green of fog and mist, you will love the new look.
The new lighting beautifully illuminates the artwork.
The familiar, warm French cherrywood chairs makes for a lovely counterpoint to the new seaside colors.
Many of Ken’s classic dishes remain on the menu, but there are some wonderful new additions coming. And Ken has a fantastic new cooktop and oven!!!
New carpeting, fresh paint, new chair covers, lovely new bathroom. AND SAME WONDERFUL STAFF! Come see and enjoy a most fabulous dining experience at the always fun and elegant Duckworth’s.
A fresh new sign to accompany the new interior look. Note the sign no longer says Bistrot and that is because Ken and Nicole are planning to hold more intimate gatherings and parties.
Last Saturday for my birthday my husband Tom treated me to a beautiful and fabulous dinner at Duckworth’s. The following morning I met my Good Morning Gloucester friends for brunch at Passports–talk about spoiled–Duckworths and Passports are two of my very favorite restaurants and two of the very finest restaurants on the North Shore.
I had only my iPhone camera with me at Duckworths and don’t like the way most of the photos turned out–too little light for the iPhone’s tiny image sensor .
